Lohr 酒廠的Estates莊園系列，以自家特定的葡萄園栽植最適合的品種，以生產高品質的葡萄酒。「熊園(Los Osos, 西班牙文中的“the Bears”)」位於Paso Robles產區，本園土壤貧瘠而複雜、排水良好，得以生產出很有特色的Merlot；在本園因應不同的土壤種植了不同無性繁殖系的Merlot，還有其他多種紅葡萄品種，運用在這款酒中增添豐富複雜的風味。使用美國和匈牙利橡木桶來陳年，時間長達18個月。為了保留酒的風味，裝瓶前沒有經過過濾處理。這款酒的色澤是很漂亮的深紅色。嗅覺上以藍莓、紅櫻桃之類的漿果氣味為主，混合了橡木的燒烤香氣。口感上同樣呈現出櫻桃的甜美果味，以及一些甘草、香料和香草的香味；整體表現複雜多層次，餘味持久。有10年左右的陳年潛力。 Traditionally, we harvest our estate-grown Merlot grapes across a range of sugar ripeness. The early picks usually capture the classic varietal definition of Merlot, while the fruit harvested later adds depth and intensity to the wine. We grow our Merlot grapes in Nacimiento-Los Osos, Arbuckle-San Ysidro and Arbuckle-Positas complex soils on our Los Osos vineyard in Paso Robles, where these well-drained but relatively poor soils have chalky or gravelly components.  Our J. Lohr Los Osos Merlot is medium-bodied with firm and structured tannins, with a finish that is bright and activates the palate. Enjoy now or within ten years, with pork roast in a plum reduction sauce, or baked or roasted chicken.
